Lip Filler After Care Advice

Here at LAHatton Aesthetics based in Warrington, we want to make sure all our patients who have received lip filler treatments know how important it is that you follow your aftercare advice.

This will help to minimise any adverse reactions following your treatment.

Immediately after treatment you may experience some swelling, redness and/or tenderness, Bruising can also occur and will usually resolve within 5-7 days. This is a normal and temporary reaction to any injectable technique and the healing time varies from one person to another.

Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours post treatment. This allows the small needle holes to close up thereby preventing infection.

Avoid applying make up for 12 hours post treatment.

Ice packs are beneficial on the day of treatment and can be used on your return home, if needed.

Non-surgical face lifts, exfoliating facials and micro-dermabrasion must be avoided for 1 week post treatment.

A sun protection of at least factor 30 should be used at all times.

Avoid the use of sunbeds and extreme sun exposure, especially on the face.

If you have any excessive pain, discolouration aside from a normal bruise or any numbness to the treatment area then please contact Laura immediately.

How long the effect of the treatment lasts is dependant on the individual. There are many factors to consider such as the structure of your skin, your lifestyle and age.

The treatment can be repeated as often as is needed, although most patients chose to have a follow up at 6-12 months to maintain their results.
